00:01:08 Merrily

Sarah, how are you?

00:01:10 Sarah

You're welcome.

00:01:11 Merrily

Let's just start at the beginning. I'm going to pretend I don't know some stuff about you so well. So what is? What is your earliest sort of spiritual experience? That kind of kicked off where you're at today?

00:01:25 Sarah

Yeah. Well, I was raised in a pretty spiritual family and my my parents were Quakers, so we went to friends meeting every week, and we did met at an an hour of meditation waiting for the word of God.

00:01:42 Sarah

Which is really an interesting approach, right? It's experiential Christianity. It wasn't really very much training. It was more like there's got.

00:01:52 Sarah

That got in everyone.

00:01:53 Sarah

And we sit quietly and listen.

00:01:55 Sarah

And then if we.

00:01:56 Sarah

Do hear something. It's OK to stand up and talk about it so.

00:02:00 Sarah

We wear our own.

00:02:01 Sarah

It's unmediated Christianity, but honestly, I.

00:02:04 Sarah

Didn't hear a saying.

00:02:06 Sarah

The whole time I was a child sitting there quietly and eating, I always thought.

00:02:10 Sarah

That this was something more to this.

00:02:13 Merrily

Yeah. And so, so that's interesting. I know you've talked about your upbringing before and that's always interesting to me. And was there a time kind of when you were either a child or a teenager where you had sort of something either paranormal or odd that happened that made you go kind of what you just said? Like, there's something more to this?

00:02:35

I don't, I think.

00:02:36 Sarah

I was very spiritually oriented child. It was more for me. It was more about nature. I was just, you know, running around in Woodlands. I was born in the Eastern Woodlands and.

00:02:46 Sarah

Running around chasing little critters, salamanders, turtles, whatever.

00:02:51 Sarah

I could find because.

00:02:52 Sarah

That was my thing was finding.

00:02:55 Sarah

Cool little animals. It wasn't really until I was in college.

00:02:59 Sarah

I think that I had my.

00:03:02 Sarah

First, really conscious spiritual or paranormal experience and.

00:03:06 Sarah

That was a dream.

00:03:09 Sarah

There's reading this book called Creative Dreaming, Very old book with different techniques from different cultures on dreaming, and there's a chapter in there about healing yourself and your dreams. And I was at UC Santa Barbara and I was experiencing really severe a fever, just like I could not go outside without being all itchy and cold.

00:03:29 Sarah

Billing and it was not my normal summer and so I decided I myself in my dreams. So I went. I remember I was riding the bus around town that day and I was. I think I must put myself in the trance because I I remember. I was just sort of mumbling and myself in my dreams. I just.

00:03:46 Sarah

Kind of did.

00:03:47 Sarah

That all day. And then I I went to bed.

00:03:49 Sarah

I had this dream about.

00:03:51 Sarah

Tending a little puppy a little white puppy.

00:03:55 Sarah

And when I woke up.

00:03:56 Sarah

I never had the fever.

00:03:58 Sarah

Like that again.

00:03:58 Sarah

It was just gone.

00:04:00 Sarah

Even though I mean that's.

00:04:01 Sarah

Pretty dramatic.

00:04:03 Merrily

Yeah, yeah.

00:04:05 Sarah

Yeah, so I was.

00:04:06 Sarah

Surprised but.

00:04:08 Sarah

I never.

00:04:09 Sarah

Thought about that as something like a message or an idea that, oh, I should maybe look into this spiritual feeling stuff more or, you know, there might be some. I.

00:04:21 Sarah

Might have some.

00:04:21 Sarah

Skill. I might have an ability, but I.

00:04:24 Sarah

Just never. It never occurred to me somehow follow up.

00:04:27 Merrily

Right.

00:04:29 Merrily

Yeah, I'm wondering about. I know you do some dream interpretation. I think maybe I think maybe more for fun is kind of how I remember.

00:04:39 Sarah

Hard to get people to take that seriously. Yeah, because I I find it amazing language. I took a course from Michael Sheridan and.

00:04:49 Sarah

You know his dream interpretation course.

00:04:51 Sarah

Is really good and he.

00:04:53 Sarah

Kind of opened up this whole.

00:04:55 Sarah

World of us.

00:04:56 Sarah

Dream language. And it's really the language of metaphor. I think it's the.

00:05:00 Sarah

Language of the soul.

00:05:01 Sarah

So if we can, it's not that different from seeing visions and translating the pictures and images that we see into.

00:05:11 Sarah

Some kind of information?

00:05:12 Sarah

Right, some real message.

00:05:14 Sarah

So that was, I mean, I didn't do that until.

00:05:16 Sarah

I was in like my client program.

00:05:18 Sarah

Right before it.

00:05:19 Sarah

Maybe it got me to go into the program even because.

00:05:23 Sarah

There was a dream that he interpreted, interpreted, interpreted, and it was something about.

00:05:31 Sarah

It kind of pointed out this ability to channel.

00:05:36 Sarah

Which I had never really thought I.

00:05:38 Sarah

Mean. I knew I was experiencing something.

00:05:40 Sarah

By then, but I didn't really have it as like a gift.

00:05:44 Sarah

As much as a problem.

00:05:46 Merrily

Right.

00:05:48 Sarah

Happens on this journey.

00:05:50 Merrily

Yeah, for sure.

00:05:52 Sarah

Yeah, but yeah, I don't have been. I had been writing.

00:05:56 Sarah

Down my dreams for years.

00:05:58 Sarah

I just hadn't.

00:05:59 Sarah

I don't know that I was.

00:06:00 Sarah

Interpreting them at all.

00:06:03 Sarah

It's like, oh, interesting dream.

00:06:06

What am I going to?

00:06:08 Merrily

Uh, since you wrote them down, did you ever go back and look at them at all and interpret?

00:06:12 Merrily

Them or you're just like.

00:06:13 Sarah

Well, one thing I learned in his course was that.

00:06:18 Sarah

They're really about the present. They're giving you information about the present.

00:06:22 Sarah

There are a few dreams that I've remembered that were very important dreams.

00:06:28 Sarah

I did not understand what they.

00:06:30 Sarah

Meant at the time when I dreamt them.

00:06:32 Sarah

One was like about that spiritual awakening period, and it was very much about an over. It was about disaster. It was about being overwhelmed by waves by, you know, like or flooding. So. And I feel like, you know, if you have a dream, then your.

00:06:53 Sarah

House is being flooded.

00:06:54 Sarah

Or you're on the beach and the waves keep getting higher and you have to move out of the way, or you're getting washed over, then that's probably a dream about a spiritual awakening. Just from my experience. Interesting, right?

00:07:07 Merrily

Yeah, totally cool. Well, thanks for chatting a little bit about dream interpretation.

00:07:13

I love, I love it. It's.

00:07:15 Sarah

Such a little interesting challenge, like what is the language? How is this dream showing this person not only what's going on interpreting you know, telling you what's going on, because these are messages from spirit, right. But it usually also includes the solo.

00:07:32 Merrily

Right.

00:07:32 Sarah

Something so I've.

00:07:33 Sarah

Learned to start looking for the solution so that.

00:07:35 Sarah

I'm not just giving bad news.

00:07:38 Sarah

It's usually good always about something you can change.

00:07:42 Merrily

Yeah, for sure. Like you gave me a really good insight into a dream I relate to you about. I'll just go talk about really quick. So the listeners know. So basically I had my biological father passed away. We didn't have a really great relationship. However, I and he passed away during 22.

00:08:03 Merrily

And I had a dream where he, well, it wasn't him. And it wasn't me, but it was like it was a father and son figure. And then the son was like in their front yard. And and I was like, observing this. But I was also understanding I was the sun. And it was really weird. The sun had, there was a rowboat.

00:08:22 Merrily

And then the sun had oars, and he had nailed the oars onto the neighbors house, right.

00:08:27 Merrily

Me observing this was getting a lot of anxiety of like, oh man, you just messed up that you. Why did you do that? You know, I'm like, observing this is in the dream. And I and then the father comes out of the house and, you know, walks up to the sun. And I'm like, oh, man, that father is going to give you some hell for that. Like, the neighbor was going on.

00:08:45 Merrily

A lot anxiety.

00:08:47 Merrily

But the father was like, like, just looked at the oars on the House and, like, touch the nail. And then he was like, oh, these are gonna come out really easily. They're masonry nails. It's gonna be fine. And then I was like.

00:08:58 Merrily

But if I remember correctly, you're telling me that and you can reinterpret it because I I'm just kind of relaying it very quickly. But what I remember you telling me was like ohh. It's like boats. Kind of indicate like again, like a spiritual journey, that kind of thing. And I was like ohh yeah. And then sort of like maybe the other house. I can't remember what the other house.

00:09:18 Merrily

You can help me if you remember at all.

00:09:20 Sarah

There's something in the dream that says oh.

00:09:22 Sarah

But this will come out easily like that's the.

00:09:24 Sarah

Things are going to come out easily.

00:09:26 Sarah

So you kind of listen.

00:09:27 Sarah

Your way however.

00:09:29 Sarah

You write down words you use are the message.

00:09:33 Sarah

That's so good. They are. You know, it's quite interesting, however.

00:09:36 Merrily

Yeah, very cool. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. I always think about that. And it was really cool. So I always appreciate that.

00:09:43 Sarah

Language. You know that metaphor? Language. It can be very intuitive, but it's also makes some kind of sense. It's almost a little bit literal sometimes.

00:09:54 Merrily

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:09:55 Sarah

So you have to kind of jump over your.

00:09:58 Sarah

Your ability to rationalize and figure things out to.

00:10:02 Sarah

Literally saying things are going to be all right.

00:10:04 Merrily

Yeah, yeah. Ah, I like that. Cool. Well, thank you. I did have a question, and I know I think we mentioned this in one of our conversations before, but I don't know if we ever got into it deep deeply. But what do you think the difference is? And sorry, this is a question I'm kind of throwing at you, but.

00:10:23 Merrily

I think you can answer it.

00:10:25 Merrily

What do you think the differences between soul and spirit? Or do you think there is?

00:10:29 Merrily

Difference at all?

00:10:31 Sarah

Well, yeah now.

00:10:33 Sarah

That is a kind of a challenging question.

00:10:38 Sarah

Yeah, spirit is, you know, the energy part of ourselves. I think that will, like spirit, could be a.

00:10:43 Sarah

Really big picture.

00:10:45 Sarah

Of you or it could be a.

00:10:46 Sarah

Small picture I mean.

00:10:48 Sarah

I always thought of my spirit as myself, my higher self.

00:10:53 Sarah

In some way, like the gut, the healing part of myself, and that that part of myself.

00:10:58 Sarah

That is guiding me my.

00:11:02 Sarah

And the soul is.

00:11:05 Sarah

You know that.

00:11:07 Sarah

It's like I.

00:11:08 Sarah

Mean it's part of.

00:11:09 Sarah

The heart, right. It's like the heart of you that comes down into the world. That is the soul. It's always connected to who you really are. And it might feel like a very small part. You know what we, we label as a soul is. But it's the the experiencer, right, the.

00:11:27 Sarah

The one who experiences.

00:11:28 Sarah

The the world, the life here and above. Probably.

00:11:34 Sarah

So I can't give you a absolute definition.

00:11:36 Sarah

Of that. But I do think it's an.

00:11:37 Sarah

Interesting question.

00:11:38 Merrily

Yeah, that's good. Yeah, I've been thinking about that lately. So I was curious what you thought.

00:11:44 Merrily

Cool. So I know that you have had, I would say it was like a spiritually transformative experience.

00:11:50 Merrily

I don't know if you want to talk about that and then how your spiritual path progressed from there.

00:11:56 Sarah

Yeah. Well, as I say, I.

00:11:57 Sarah

Always thought I needed more formal training than the taker.

00:12:01 Sarah

Because the figures are kind of like those we do.

00:12:05 Sarah

Or there's that of God and everyone. Listen and.

00:12:07 Sarah

You'll figure it out.

00:12:09 Sarah

It's just not a real. I mean, not that what they were doing was bad. It was just a very, you know, Quakers or very practical sort of activist.

00:12:18 Sarah

We think we.

00:12:19 Sarah

Can make the world better kind of people.

00:12:22 Sarah

So there's a very physical.

00:12:24 Sarah

Part of that right and the.

00:12:26 Sarah

Activists kind of like acted out in the world, so I got a lot.

00:12:29 Sarah

Of that right.

00:12:30 Sarah

My father was such an idealist, right? We were being dragged around to peace marches and great boycotts and all the kind of social work, social justice work that he was interested in.

00:12:44 Sarah

Yeah. So even though I felt that the need for more formal training, I didn't really get that until.

00:12:50 Sarah

I you know.

00:12:51 Sarah

Was in my 20s.

00:12:53 Sarah

Later in my 20s, after college, I was kind of hung out at the Theosophical Library for a while, reading books. I got to know one of the librarian and ancient librarian there. He was also riding the bus from Capitol Hill to through EU District a lot. So I kept running into him on.

00:13:11 Sarah

The bus and kind of.

00:13:13 Sarah

Struck up a friendship and.

00:13:14 Sarah

Talking about sin torn and.

00:13:17 Sarah

Places to go, spiritual ideas that he was experiencing so it.

00:13:23 Sarah

Was kind of a fun little.

00:13:26 Sarah

Connection right? Because young people don't talk.

00:13:29 Sarah

About that really.

00:13:30 Sarah

Some people my age weren't talking about that anyway.

00:13:33 Sarah

I did. You know, I think that.

00:13:36 Sarah

I had a spiritual.

00:13:38 Sarah

Kind of underpinning to.

00:13:40 Sarah

Everything in my life, I really was a very spiritual person. Maybe because I was raised by these.

00:13:44 Sarah

Sort of devout people, but.

00:13:48 Sarah

And maybe is a blessing, that sort of Quaker belief isn't really very controlling or, you know, there's not a lot of judgment or, you know, you should do this or.

00:14:00 Sarah

You shouldn't do.

00:14:00 Sarah

That involved in it. It's pretty open, right?

00:14:03 Sarah

Oh, if you see God in every one, that's good.

00:14:06 Sarah

Right. So I feel like.

00:14:09 Sarah

Yeah, it was.

00:14:11 Sarah

Just sort of.

00:14:12 Sarah

Floating around, I know.

00:14:13 Sarah

My art had a spiritual focus, and in some ways it was about perception and learning because I didn't really see visions. I.

00:14:20 Sarah

Didn't really have any.

00:14:22 Sarah

You know, aside from dreams, no paranormal experience.

00:14:26 Sarah

They made connection with really with that one.

00:14:30 Sarah

Time. I mean, I had.

00:14:32 Sarah

Dreams that would predict certain things like before I met someone, sometimes I would have a dream. There's always like 3 days or three days I meet somebody.

00:14:43 Sarah

For this.

00:14:45 Sarah

I don't know you.

00:14:45 Sarah

Know just when you're.

00:14:46 Sarah

A kid. You just. You just see what?

00:14:47 Sarah

You see? Anyway, my art is about perception and learning to see.

00:14:52 Sarah

And follow that, you know, it was about what of?

00:14:56 Sarah

It was about opening.

00:14:58 Sarah

And I think you know probably that was the underlying kind of drive in my life because I really was closed down spiritually. And I think I I was, I did that out of protection in some way.

00:15:12 Sarah

But when I was in, my gosh.

00:15:16 Sarah

34 I was 34 years old and I had a falling out with someone in my family which really disturbed caused a lot of disturbance. It was kind of like my beliefs were shattered at that moment. And what a family.

00:15:29 Sarah

Was supposed to be.

00:15:31 Sarah

And I went home, and I was also.

00:15:35

I decided.

00:15:35 Sarah

To see a counselor.

00:15:36 Sarah

Because I was having weird experiences like I would go to a doctor's office.

00:15:41 Sarah

And I would.

00:15:41 Sarah

Cry. There's no.

00:15:43 Sarah

Real reason for it necessarily.

00:15:45 Sarah

I just had this sort of and there.

00:15:46 Sarah

Was something under.

00:15:47 Sarah

There, that was not being treated or.

00:15:51 Sarah

So so I went to this counselor and she happened to work with Betty Lamont, who's a neuro developmental therapist. And she.

00:15:59 Sarah

Said, I think.

00:15:59 Sarah

Some of your.

00:16:01 Sarah

Language the way that you speak that you could probably use some work on your brain. There's some brain thing going on. So she sent me to Betty.

00:16:11 Sarah

And I did. I went there and I did the exercises and got diagnosed and she gave me some ways to start.

00:16:20 Sarah

He stimulating the brain, which basically is creeping and crawling and rolling.

00:16:25 Sarah

Over like a baby.

00:16:26 Sarah

Exercises that cause you to.

00:16:28 Sarah

Kind of stimulate.

00:16:31 Sarah

Your body in a certain way that stimulates brain growth.

00:16:34 Sarah

It's kind of.

00:16:34 Sarah

Like creating new.

00:16:35 Sarah

Pathways around the damage part, so I.

00:16:37 Sarah

Had a mid.

00:16:38 Sarah

Brain mid brain damage is about emotion, so my emotions were really close down. My ability to connect with people is.

00:16:45 Sarah

Not very good.

00:16:47 Sarah

And so after eight weeks of crawling and creeping around on the floor, think I spent like 40 minutes a day, just like with knee pads doing these exercises.

00:16:58 Sarah

I was pretty. I was pretty.

00:16:59 Sarah

Devoted to it. Pretty dedicated.

00:17:02 Sarah

That whole life changed all of a sudden.

00:17:04 Sarah

I my brain was working differently.

00:17:07 Sarah

And I almost felt like it was more than.

00:17:10 Sarah

That it felt.

00:17:11 Sarah

Like as soon as my brain was working.

00:17:13 Sarah

A lot of spiritual block.

00:17:16 Sarah

Just fell away.

00:17:17 Sarah

It's kind of like I've.

00:17:18 Sarah

Been living in a shell an isolating shell.

00:17:23 Sarah

Like I was in a bubble of my own beliefs and they were not bad beliefs, but they were very.

00:17:28 Sarah

Protective and limited.

00:17:30 Sarah

And then I was.

00:17:31 Sarah

Suddenly, like that bubble burst and I was suddenly inundated by all of.

00:17:38 Sarah

This phenomena that I had never had.

00:17:40 Sarah

I was seeing visions. I was hearing voices. I was.

00:17:43 Sarah

Getting a lot of energy. I was getting a lot of.

00:17:46 Sarah

Downloads of information.

00:17:48 Sarah

None of which was familiar to me in any way.

00:17:55 Sarah

Yeah, that was a really big.

00:17:59 Sarah

Big step. It was kind of like stepping out of the limiting system and into this sort of.

00:18:07 Sarah

Somebody opened all my Claire. It was it.

00:18:09 Sarah

Was a kundalini opening. It was, yeah, and. And you know, I was in a place where I could.

00:18:18 Sarah

I got overwhelmed.

00:18:19 Sarah

Really quickly and I I had a breakdown.

00:18:21 Sarah

I immediately had a a break.

00:18:24 Sarah

Quit my job.

00:18:26 Sarah

And I started going around looking for spiritual community. I was. I went to ask.

00:18:30 Sarah

Where they do gestalt therapy, but working there as a.

00:18:33 Merrily

Oh yeah.

00:18:35 Sarah

I think they they.

00:18:35 Sarah

Have a just kind of a fun place to.

00:18:38 Sarah

Work for a month or something. I went there.

00:18:42 Sarah

Then I went to Findhorn.

00:18:46 Sarah

I kind of travel around Nepal and India and Tibet.

00:18:50 Sarah

And then when I came back, I was doing Buddhist studies because that was such an interesting place and I knew nothing about Buddhism. Well, I knew very.

00:18:58 Sarah

Little about Buddhism I had two.

00:19:00 Sarah

I've read some books.

00:19:01 Sarah

On theosophy. Right. Where do these books? But I didn't.

00:19:05 Sarah

Really understand the.

00:19:07 Sarah

Whole thing but.

00:19:08 Sarah

Into that people are very grounded. There's the.

00:19:10 Sarah

The solidness and that really impressed me.

00:19:14 Sarah

So when I came.

00:19:14 Sarah

Back studying Tibetan Buddhism, I did some work like the Dalai Lama was teaching these maths courses with thousands of people.

00:19:24 Sarah

So I took at.

00:19:25 Sarah

Least one or two, two at least two.

00:19:27 Sarah

Of those forces.

00:19:29 Sarah

And then I did some.

00:19:33 Sarah

Tonka. Tantric work at Vajrapani Santa Cruz area.

00:19:40 Sarah

And then finally I got.

00:19:42 Sarah

To the post.

00:19:43 Sarah

And I was still pretty unbalanced mentally. I was really.

00:19:46 Sarah

Like so unstable this.

00:19:48 Sarah

Was several years later, you know from.

00:19:51 Sarah

That awakening, but maybe it wasn't even.

00:19:54 Sarah

That long? I can't.

00:19:55 Sarah

Remember the exact dates like it was this.

00:19:58 Sarah

Is sort of like 90.

00:20:00 Sarah

91 to 95 something like that. That whole little period in there where I was changing my life pretty dramatically traveling and then coming back and doing all this through this work and I.

00:20:12 Sarah

Went to started.

00:20:13 Sarah

Doing the past in that workshops and that really did stabilize my mind. I had to give them a lot of credit for that. Practice is very purified.

00:20:22 Sarah

Kind of clears out all the confusion and the.

00:20:24 Sarah

Mess, right?

00:20:26 Sarah

One more flailing just.

00:20:28 Sarah

Kind of be there with.

00:20:29 Sarah

That information. So I learned a lot and.

00:20:31 Sarah

I really value that sort of.

00:20:33 Sarah

The teaching of equanimity it serves me today.

00:20:36 Sarah

Really does so.

00:20:38 Sarah

Cool, yeah.

00:20:39 Sarah

Yeah, yeah, that was pretty intensive. Five years of my life.

00:20:44 Merrily

I have a quick question. I know you chatted talked about Finn torn. It's findhorn. Can you explain what that is?

00:20:52 Sarah

Oh yeah, it's a spiritual community and and.

00:20:54 Sarah

When I was.

00:20:55 Sarah

Young and growing up, I had this.

00:20:57 Sarah

Book called the Magic of Sin torrent.

00:20:59 Sarah

It was just like a.

00:21:00 Sarah

Little Book picture book, right. And it was how they were working with the Davis had created the spiritual community in northern Scotland is on the North Sea.

00:21:14 Sarah

The guy who? That.

00:21:15 Sarah

Elderly philosophic society librarian was also really into.

00:21:21 Sarah

He knew Peter caddy.

00:21:22 Sarah

Who had visited the philosophic library and he.

00:21:24 Sarah

Was talking about him. And so he.

00:21:26 Sarah

Kind of planted that. So I.

00:21:28 Sarah

Had the little.

00:21:28 Sarah

Blips. When I was a kid that had said they grew giant cabbages and sand.

00:21:34 Sarah

Or wherever that was worth it. It was interesting enough.

00:21:36 Sarah

To me that I remembered it. And then I.

00:21:39 Sarah

Talked to Peter.

00:21:40 Sarah

To this Glenn, his name is Glenn, and he kind of.

00:21:45 Sarah

Kind of planted the idea that it might be a cool place to go, so when I had my breakdown, I said, well, I'm going to find spiritual community somewhere. I'm going to go there. So I took off. I spent a I spent, ended up spending six months there just doing their programs.

00:22:00 Sarah

Like they have a A.

00:22:01 Sarah

Living in community program, they have an Easter week program.

00:22:05 Sarah

And I just stayed as long as I could.

00:22:08 Sarah

Until I finished.

00:22:09 Sarah

All my programs basically right? Yeah.

00:22:12 Sarah

Fenton is a is a spiritual community that has.

00:22:18 Sarah

You know, it's kind.

00:22:19 Sarah

Of new age.

00:22:20 Sarah

Kind of open to lots of different types of.

00:22:24 Sarah

Spirituality. There's a lot of British or.

00:22:28 Sarah

Begin our I'm trying to think of the Druid kind.

00:22:35 Sarah

Stuff that comes through there. There was some.

00:22:38 Sarah

Sue fees there we did Sufi. So it was kind of a bunch of different. It wasn't one religion or one kind of cult belief. It was sort of a space where people could explore and be open to different kinds of spiritual practices. So that was a kind of a cool thing.

00:22:56 Sarah

I called it a spiritual cacophony at the time.

00:22:59 Merrily

Yeah, that's a lot. That's a lot.

00:23:01 Merrily

Of stuff happening in one place.

00:23:03 Sarah

And they were growing.

00:23:04 Sarah

Vegetables with the help of Davis.

00:23:07 Merrily

Wow. So with all of this, were there any either role models or got human guides that you had or that you looked up to maybe either that you knew personally or that you just kind of?

00:23:21 Merrily

Like followed a lot sort of their.

00:23:22 Merrily

Path and wanted to emulate.

00:23:24

Yeah, I always had a.

00:23:26

Kind of.

00:23:26 Sarah

Problem with that? You know, the idea of model role models. As I was thinking about that question, I was thinking about my father because even though I never thought of him really as a role model, but that is the foundation, right? The his belief system is the foundation pretty broad. It was pretty open.

00:23:44 Sarah

Minded one. You know he was a.

00:23:46 Sarah

He was a.

00:23:48 Sarah

I don't know the story.

00:23:49 Sarah

About him was that he?

00:23:51 Sarah

He, as a conscientious objector when he was 18 or something, he helped, he went to prison for being a conscientious objector, crossing the border of Mexico and to Texas ended up in a Pennsylvania prison and space started they there were other conscientious objectors there. So people were not really prison.

00:24:14 Sarah

Segregated the prison.

00:24:16 Sarah

Wow. Interesting legacy. Yeah. Yeah. So got some interesting influence there. My mother was, you know, mostly about doing things. She wasn't a very big talker, but she would we.

00:24:18

That's pretty good.

00:24:33 Sarah

Were always doing something.

00:24:34 Sarah

Creative we were sewing.

00:24:36 Sarah

They're making things we were, you know, decorating. Whatever it was, you know, wasn't always high end art idea, but it was.

00:24:44 Sarah

Always a part of our lives doing something creative.

00:24:48 Sarah

Well, my.

00:24:48 Sarah

Dad was really.

00:24:49 Sarah

Creative some other influences, sorry.

00:24:51 Sarah

Couple, I mean people I read I I was influenced by paying the children and by Carolyn Mays back in the 80s and 90s. And that was really, you know, that book on what is it, the anatomy of the spirit is a pretty valuable, really interesting way to look at spiritual development.

00:25:09 Sarah

So I got a lot.

00:25:10

Out of that book.

00:25:11 Sarah

Mostly reading. I think I read a book called Ancient.

00:25:15 Sarah

Futures learning from Ladakh.

00:25:17 Sarah

Too. That was very interesting, kind of.

00:25:22 Sarah

About how culture changes over time.

00:25:27 Sarah

Really interesting book is about the doc is of course the Himalayan side of India and.

00:25:33 Sarah

It's about how.

00:25:34 Sarah

When they opened Ladakh to Western culture and what happened to the people there and how their values changed? Because when tourism came into?

00:25:46 Sarah

Interesting but and it has some of the philosophy underpinning it, I think.

00:25:54 Merrily

Well, we can move.

00:25:55 Merrily

To your sort of your current incarnation about being a teacher at psychic awakenings. If you wanna talk about why you decided to become a teacher and kind of go from there.

00:26:06

Well, when I.

00:26:07 Sarah

Came to Seattle. I I was. I somehow ended up in this program. Psychic tools 101.

00:26:15 Sarah

The class I teach now, and it was so.

00:26:19 Sarah

Helpful and grounding and it.

00:26:20 Sarah

Really integrated everything that I had learned kind of like everything fell together and I suddenly felt more empowered. Like Ohh there's energy.

00:26:28

And you can.

00:26:29 Sarah

Work with it and here are some ways. This is amazing. How I could have gone through almost 20 years of this.

00:26:34 Sarah

Spiritual experience and not have.

00:26:35 Sarah

Did anybody say?

00:26:37 Sarah

Well, you can do this or this.

00:26:39 Sarah

Is one way to.

00:26:39 Sarah

Look at it and try it.

00:26:41 Sarah

And you know the actual hands on tools were so valuable to me.

00:26:46 Sarah

And I feel like when I was looking back in the early 90s when I was looking for a spiritual community, I was thinking there should be a place where people can learn something, you know, and I feel like in a way, this is the result of that wish, you know? Oh, I can help people go through spiritual awakening without.

00:27:06 Sarah

All the foundry and the challenge is we still have our challenges, but if you have a few tools, it feels much more empowering and.

00:27:15 Sarah

Possible to, you know, do something as opposed to just being the victim of whatever this is and not understanding very.

00:27:23

Much what to?

00:27:24 Sarah

Do it's more than a philosophy, right? Cause philosophy doesn't like the plasma. Also is not really a philosophy. It's a way of being, of working with the energy it's looking.

00:27:35 Sarah

Just looking profoundly at yourself.

00:27:38 Sarah

So that was my first tool and it really did rebalance my brain. And then I came back up here in Seattle and I started taking those classes. And then I got all excited because I was suddenly able to function again in a much better way. Yeah. To. Yeah, just.

00:27:56 Sarah

Having a way to do something, there's a really big difference between.

00:27:59 Sarah

Philosophy and a tool. That's what I.

00:28:04 Sarah

Anyway, it was so valuable and I'm.

00:28:05 Sarah

So grateful to be able.

00:28:07 Sarah

To be here teaching these tools, I learned so much from my students.

00:28:12 Merrily

Well, it kind of goes into my next question about maybe if favorite story that you want to share.

00:28:18 Merrily

About being psychic school teacher.

00:28:21 Merrily

I'm sure you have several but.

00:28:23 Sarah

I know that's.

00:28:25 Sarah

Way there's OK.

00:28:27 Sarah

Some of my experience like being a.

00:28:29 Sarah

School teacher maybe. I mean.

00:28:32 Sarah

It's really about seeing people grow and kind of.

00:28:35 Sarah

Take hold of their lives and go oh this.

00:28:37 Sarah

Actually does something. This actually works.

00:28:39 Sarah

But when I'm doing.

00:28:40 Sarah

Meetings. That's when I really get some interesting.

00:28:43 Sarah

Insight and my.

00:28:44 Sarah

Favorites are when I'm working with someone and their guys come in and start teaching me through the reading.

00:28:52 Sarah

And I'm like, oh, that's a really ways that.

00:28:55 Sarah

I wouldn't have thought.

00:28:56 Sarah

And you know my, my one reading I had.

00:29:00 Sarah

In particular, I was.

00:29:02 Sarah

I could see that this man had been in all of these wars, wars that I.

00:29:08 Sarah

Had heard of in history books like he'd been in lots of war. He's a warrior. And I was like, wow, how? Why would someone do that?

00:29:17 Sarah

In my mind, away.

00:29:19 Sarah

And his guys just like, started showing me how he went into these deep, challenging and.

00:29:29 Sarah

You know, not necessarily easy situations, right? Passionate victory and failure and loss and all of the things that war has, all the challenges. And then.

00:29:39 Sarah

What they showed.

00:29:40 Sarah

Me is at the.

00:29:41 Sarah

End of the lifetime. He would leave it all.

00:29:43 Sarah

Behind he would.

00:29:43 Sarah

Just say, you know there would be, we would forgive all of his.

00:29:47 Sarah

Enemies and he would.

00:29:49 Sarah

Make up and it was kind of like he.

00:29:51 Sarah

Would walk away with no karma.

00:29:54 Sarah

That's an interesting picture that you don't have to have.

00:29:57 Sarah

Of you don't have to drag your past around with you for lifetime after lifetime, you can just let it go. And that's a that's a very big lesson, you know, for all of us because there.

00:30:08 Sarah

Is this you?

00:30:09 Sarah

Know thought form or belief on earth that we have to repent. Well, there's the punishment type, people or the.

00:30:17 Sarah

We have to.

00:30:17 Sarah

Make up for our sins.

00:30:18 Sarah

Where there's the balance out our acts.

00:30:19 Sarah

We have to.

00:30:22 Sarah

Which might be true, but it.

00:30:24 Sarah

Not how we do it. We have a lot of choice and and if we're stuck in a system that says there's punishment or suffering and involved, then we get caught up in that.

00:30:27

Right.

00:30:34 Sarah

But if you're looking.

00:30:35 Sarah

At this guy.

00:30:36 Sarah

And you're going. We'll maybe you can just clear the, you know, walk away.

00:30:44 Sarah

And release all anger. And you know all difficult pain.

00:30:49 Sarah

You know not.

00:30:50 Sarah

Carry negative feelings and beliefs with you.

00:30:53 Sarah

At the end of.

00:30:54 Sarah

A lifetime not get caught up.

00:30:55 Sarah

In that that you're.

00:30:57 Sarah

There's a kind of freedom in that.

00:30:59 Sarah

It makes life.

00:31:00 Sarah

More of an adventure.

00:31:03 Sarah

Yeah, making choices. Yeah, I. And in a way, it's.

00:31:08 Sarah

Being fully committed to your life, she.

00:31:10 Sarah

Was like he went and fully committed to this. These battles, right? And this this.

00:31:16 Sarah

You know great.

00:31:16 Sarah

Camaraderie and challenge of being a soldier and.

00:31:19 Sarah

Then he would walk away.

00:31:21 Sarah

And it was just like the lease at the end of it to me, that was a really profound moment of seeing the.

00:31:31 Sarah

Other interesting.

00:31:34 Sarah

People I meet in psychic school or sometimes these star seeds that come into the world and have difficulty grounding and they're they're young, right?

00:31:43 Sarah

They're they're 20s or.

00:31:45 Sarah

And they it's not like, for instance, that the other person the soldier, had been, he's he was a star seed, but he'd been here for decades.

00:31:54 Sarah

For hundreds of lifetimes. But these new people are.

00:31:57 Sarah

Coming in and the new bees.

00:31:59 Sarah

Come to Earth and they can't.

00:32:00 Sarah

Ground because it doesn't.

00:32:01 Sarah

Feel good and they sometimes or they don't have that sort of binary sexuality like it's not in their history.

00:32:10 Sarah

So they don't.

00:32:11 Sarah

Really know what to do with it and.

00:32:12 Sarah

They're kind of struggling, you know, with.

00:32:15 Sarah

How do I fit myself into this? You know, extremely limited belief system.

00:32:22 Sarah

I kind of see it as.

00:32:25 Sarah

They they need to get their land, legs, their earth legs under them. And it's really interesting to see. I think that what I learned from that is that we carry so much history with us all of our past experiences.

00:32:40 Sarah

Are kind of program.

00:32:41 Sarah

Coming us.

00:32:43 Sarah

It's like how we.

00:32:44 Sarah

Are comfortable in the world, is what we've seen.

00:32:46 Sarah

Known and believe, and that systems the systems that we've lived through.

00:32:50 Sarah

Are kind of a part of our reality.

00:32:52 Sarah

And so for these, for us, it makes sense in a.

00:32:56 Sarah

Way that not not always make great sense.

00:32:59 Sarah

But it it's the familiar.

00:33:02 Sarah

And but for these star seeds, it's like this.

00:33:04 Sarah

Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I don't know my.

00:33:07

Right.

00:33:09 Sarah

Who these relatives are that brought me to the world. I've never had any.

00:33:12 Sarah

History with them, I wonder why.

00:33:15 Sarah

You know and then and yeah, they, you know, it feels like.

00:33:22 Sarah

It feels like when.

00:33:23 Sarah

They do find their grounding. They're going to have really shift the planet because a lot of them are very psychic, very aware they have.

00:33:32 Sarah

I had one student and.

00:33:33 Sarah

She's like, oh, you know, I can.

00:33:35 Sarah

If somebody tells me when they were born.

00:33:36 Sarah

In what year I can see.

00:33:38 Sarah

The I can see the.

00:33:39 Sarah

Angles and how the stars work with them.

00:33:42 Sarah

Just like it's like a.

00:33:43 Sarah

Visual picture for her of how everything works. That's a really interesting astrological gift.

00:33:51 Sarah

My mind cannot even start.

00:33:54 Merrily

That's a lot, yeah.

00:33:55 Merrily

I can't even work out my own chart. That's pretty funny.

00:33:58 Sarah

Yeah, I know.

00:34:01 Sarah

Like. Yeah and.

00:34:02 Sarah

I can see that this is facing.

00:34:03 Sarah

That she's just like.

00:34:05 Sarah

That's she has this sort of profound understanding of the stars and the energies and.

00:34:10 Sarah

How they work but.

00:34:10 Sarah

She can't ground herself or anything.

00:34:13 Sarah

Like, how do you get?

00:34:15 Sarah

Once you get grounded.

00:34:16 Sarah

In in your body. Then you have.

00:34:17 Sarah

All this knowledge to share?

00:34:20 Sarah

So I can't wait till they grow up, yeah.

00:34:23 Sarah

We'll find it. You know it's exciting.

00:34:25 Merrily

Now I have this is a strange question and I I I probably worded it very poorly, but let's see if I can ask it. Have you ever sensed someone like in your just kind of walking around your everyday life and you're like this person could benefit?

00:34:42 Sarah

Yeah, well, in math.

00:34:44 Sarah

Sessions that comes up.

00:34:47 Sarah

Because I feel like impasse. Anyone who's struggling.

00:34:50 Sarah

With the energy is going to benefit from just a few things.

00:34:54 Sarah

Grounding. Learning to be centered kind.

00:34:56 Sarah

Of owning their energy and knowing.

00:34:58 Sarah

That they can let.

00:34:58 Sarah

Go of other people's.

00:34:59 Sarah

Energy and yeah, I run into that all the time and sometimes that is the healing, you know, sometimes the feeling is that you can do it, that you don't. It's not just something happening to you.

00:35:11 Merrily

That kind of goes into my next question somewhat. So Seattle, we we're both in Seattle, I took psychic, you know, I went to psychic awakenings, but Seattle is considered like a Tech City. Like one of the biggest tech cities in the world.

00:35:24 Merrily

Have you ever had? I'm sure you have, but have you ever had any left brained analytic students in your psychic class? And what was your experience with that?

00:35:33 Sarah

Everybody is so unique.

00:35:35 Sarah

You know.

00:35:37 Sarah

Yeah, I've had.

00:35:37 Sarah

A few some people who said they couldn't see pictures or they.

00:35:41 Sarah

Couldn't see inside their body.

00:35:45 Sarah

Some, mostly it comes out as in the.

00:35:49 Sarah

Tech world. There's a lot of masculine.

00:35:51 Sarah

Energy. There's a very.

00:35:53 Sarah

Strong focus limited, you know, keep your keep your focus on this project. And so it's usually women who are struggling. They might be really good at tech, but they're I think they.

00:36:06 Sarah

Struggle with the.

00:36:07 Sarah

The balance and, you know, reclaiming their expansive female.

00:36:13 Sarah

I was just.

00:36:13 Sarah

Having to talk with someone today and it was such an interesting comment you made is like little man have Gray matter, you know. And then I said, well, what do you women?

00:36:21 Sarah

Have is they?

00:36:22 Sarah

He he said yes that actually.

00:36:25 Sarah

What do women have? That's not Gray matter like they like men have bigger brains that women have more.

00:36:32 Sarah

What he called white matter, which is the connective tissue, and that is so clear when you think of women, make connections like we connect people, we connect ideas, we open our, we're open to the threads.

00:36:46 Sarah

Picture sometimes. Yeah. So I thought that was really interesting. Oh, there's Gray.

00:36:52 Sarah

Matter and white matter in the brain, I.

00:36:53 Sarah

Never thought about that until today.

00:36:55 Merrily

Yeah, I learned a thing. That's great. So how would you say and we kind of already went over this. I know you've had that psychic awakenings. You've had people that are going through spiritually transformative.

00:37:08 Merrily

Chances. So how would?

00:37:10 Merrily

You help somebody who's going through that, I'm sure with the tools, but you know.

00:37:17 Sarah

How to heal themselves and learn how to let?

00:37:19 Sarah

Go of those old pictures and.

00:37:21 Sarah

Learn actual things that help them to be more present.

00:37:25 Sarah

And we're in.

00:37:25 Sarah

Their space, so that is the number one thing that we do. Feelings we do like if you are having a disturbance in class and you ask or I think to.

00:37:35 Sarah

To say something if I know this, which I should be doing, maybe more, but.

00:37:40 Sarah

We can offer.

00:37:41 Sarah

Dealings we have, you know, some skills.

00:37:44 Sarah

To help people to.

00:37:45 Sarah

Move through that.

00:37:46 Sarah

And 1st I'm always asking questions or answering questions people some classes more so than others.

00:37:56 Sarah

Yeah, but I feel like, you know, our philosophy and feeling is that people give themselves.

00:38:04 Sarah

When we have the right information, we have a.

00:38:06 Sarah

Little bit of skill.

00:38:08 Sarah

Then we feel empowered and.

00:38:09 Sarah

We can, you know, tap into.

00:38:12 Sarah

Some resources that we didn't think.

00:38:14 Sarah

We had. It's funny how you have.

00:38:15 Sarah

To know you.

00:38:15 Sarah

Have it in order to tap into.

00:38:18 Sarah

It right, there's lots of people out there that, you know, make great progress from reading that book for this.

00:38:25 Sarah

Thing that some of us need like hands on.

00:38:29 Sarah

This is how you do it.

00:38:31 Merrily

I'm one of those people.

00:38:34 Sarah

I like. I like that that.

00:38:39 Sarah

Kind of. Oh, there's a tool I can use for this.

00:38:42 Sarah

Because that we teach are just examples. You can start making up your own tools there. How metaphor works with the.

00:38:48 Sarah

Spiritual language, right going.

00:38:52 Sarah

A picture idea created through a picture that works for your body is going to help you transform your life, and sometimes there's a little leap of faith.

00:39:03 Sarah

There for a minute until you see that it.

00:39:05 Sarah

Really works, that's why.

00:39:09 Sarah

Like grounding, we use.

00:39:11

Kind of.

00:39:12 Sarah

Pictures on how the.

00:39:13 Sarah

Ground and then people start noticing that it really does feel different when you use a tree image.

00:39:18 Sarah

And we use.

00:39:19 Sarah

A waterfall. When we use a new light and suddenly.

00:39:21 Sarah

We're reading energy.

00:39:25 Merrily

How would you describe or how would you explain pictures? I mean, I know what pictures are, but how?

00:39:31 Merrily

Would you explain that to somebody?

00:39:33 Sarah

With our energy, it's a vibration.

00:39:36 Sarah

That we hold in our.

00:39:37 Sarah

Bodies like we, we kind of tuck things away in our bodies, their memories. They're based on memories. So based on.

00:39:44 Sarah

Leaves usually pick them up like this foundation leaves when we're very small. Very. I'm surprised I'm still finding.

00:39:53 Sarah

Pictures that were.

00:39:55 Sarah

Part of my.

00:39:56 Sarah

Upbringing as a child, or even an infant, my most recent one was that my mother quit teaching when I was born and for her, she loved. She was a school teacher.

00:40:08 Sarah

And she really loved it.

00:40:12 Sarah

And she lost her income and there was a profound sense of sadness and loss because she no longer she only had that freedom.

00:40:21 Sarah

She had been teaching.

00:40:22 Sarah

Before she got.

00:40:22 Sarah

Married. And then she suddenly, after her second child, she quit. And I feel like there was a kind of a profound, so I felt.

00:40:31 Sarah

I suddenly realized that I had kind of.

00:40:35 Sarah

Taken that into.

00:40:36 Sarah

My body that when you leave a job there like you walk away from something good and I it's kind of weird how our.

00:40:49 Sarah

And because it was a sad thing it was.

00:40:51 Sarah

Kind of odd.

00:40:52 Sarah

How she?

00:40:55 Sarah

Kind of so I kind.

00:40:56 Sarah

Of took on that energy of leaving work or leaving money behind and not.

00:41:02 Sarah

And I realized in my.

00:41:03 Sarah

Life. I've kind of done that in different.

00:41:05 Sarah

Jobs like oh.

00:41:06 Sarah

I walked away from a job for no real reason or for some idea that wasn't really very well thought out.

00:41:15 Sarah

For and, it wasn't necessarily always the best.

00:41:19 Sarah

Decision I walked away from a lot of.

00:41:21 Sarah

Money in my life.

00:41:22 Sarah

And I'm like, oh.

00:41:23 Sarah

Where did that come from? And then I kind of rooted back there and somehow in my.

00:41:27 Sarah

Ancient mind I.

00:41:28 Sarah

Had picked up that belief that you walk away from money.

00:41:33 Sarah

So funny. And it's, isn't it interesting? House, that event wasn't even my life.

00:41:39 Sarah

Right. And yet.

00:41:41 Sarah

I had been living out that vibration somehow, so pictures are of vibration that we carry a belief.

00:41:49 Sarah

That we carry that hat. And when when it has seniority over us like that one did and it's.

00:41:56 Sarah

You know.

00:41:57 Merrily

I picked that up.

00:41:58 Sarah

In the womb.

00:41:58 Sarah

Probably to some degree. Yeah. You know, as an infant and.

00:42:03 Sarah

I didn't know where it came from. I.

00:42:04 Sarah

Didn't really even see it until I started.

00:42:07 Sarah

Doing these clearings.

00:42:09 Sarah

Really I saw.

00:42:10 Sarah

That in a map session which I was.

00:42:12 Sarah

Doing called the.

00:42:13 Sarah

11 money saboteurs.

00:42:15

And I'm like.

00:42:18 Sarah

Where did that come from and why did I take that on such A and how now you know that I've I've been through most of my work life already. I I suddenly see this pattern and how it played.

00:42:29 Sarah

Out so when?

00:42:30 Sarah

We have a picture it.

00:42:32 Sarah

Creates things that we do without.

00:42:36 Sarah

Kind of.

00:42:38 Sarah

Thinking about them in a.

00:42:39 Sarah

Way or we think it's them through and they still come out the way that they.

00:42:43 Sarah

That this picture says they.

00:42:45 Sarah

Should it's kind of like a.

00:42:47 Sarah

I believe and.

00:42:48 Sarah

There are worse ones than that, you know, so.

00:42:51 Sarah

Some very challenging energy from our parents. Not all parents are in the right place when they have.

00:42:57 Sarah

Children and yeah.

00:42:58 Sarah

Isn't it happy? How we could pick up one little thing? My mother was a very happy person and my parents were not starving or having a lot of trouble. It was just that she had that profound experience of sadness, or over that loss, probably at.

00:43:10 Sarah

The same time.

00:43:11 Sarah

Having postpartum.

00:43:12 Merrily

Oh, right, yeah.

00:43:14 Sarah

So anyway.

00:43:15 Merrily

Wow. Yeah, thanks for explaining pictures. So I know I took one of your workshop, your Angel workshop. And I think you do it around the holidays.

00:43:27 Sarah

Usually around.

00:43:28 Sarah

Beginning of December, I try to do that workshop.

00:43:30 Sarah

Angels and Christmas seemed to go together.

00:43:33 Sarah

To me, yeah.

00:43:36 Merrily

So why did you want to even start working with angels or?

00:43:41 Sarah

You know.

00:43:42 Sarah

Seemed like I.

00:43:43 Sarah

Came to angels unexpectedly. I didn't really like my history, wasn't really around angels. The only angels we ever have on the Christmas tree are at Christmas time, never any other time but.

00:43:56 Sarah

They kept knocking at my door.

00:43:58 Sarah

You know, I I would go to the store.

00:44:01 Sarah

That Angel book would fall off.

00:44:03 Sarah

And I'm like, well, I don't.

00:44:04 Sarah

Want to read this?

00:44:06 Sarah

But I had. I somehow did.

00:44:09 Sarah

It wasn't until.

00:44:09 Sarah

Later that I realized that I needed that help. Like Angel guides are high vibration, they're not going to mislead you. All you have to do is ask for what you want, and they're very much the higher vibration people and you know, I started working with them more while I was in the cat program because.

00:44:27 Sarah

Another person, when we were doing one of those reading exchanges, the partner that I had said, oh, I want to work with on Al. Can you take a look?

00:44:35 Sarah

At what that?

00:44:36 Sarah

Is and and how that would work out?

00:44:38 Sarah

Because he was an occupant.

00:44:39 Sarah

Jurist and and I said OK, so I looked at Hannah Allen.

00:44:45 Sarah

And she said, well, I won't work with him because he's doing one-on-one practice healing practice with people. He's a healer, but she said I'm more like Earth. Like, how are things working out on Earth if there's?

00:44:59 Sarah

Some big problems, there's.

00:45:00 Sarah

Some belief system that's.

00:45:04 Sarah

That's my realm and so.

00:45:06 Sarah

I'd be happy to work with.

00:45:07 Sarah

You. So anyway, I worked with channel for quite a while and that was a very interesting.

00:45:13 Sarah

Shift from me I.

00:45:15 Sarah

Had to take it seriously in a way. It's.

00:45:17 Sarah

Like, oh, if this Archangel wants to.

00:45:19 Sarah

Work with me then I maybe need to.

00:45:22 Sarah

Look at it more profoundly.

00:45:27 Sarah

And and they are really reliable guys, yeah.

00:45:33 Sarah

Sometimes you know in the non physical.

00:45:35 Sarah

World there's people of all different levels. People just like us can be floating.

00:45:39 Sarah

Around there and want to be your guide and.

00:45:42 Sarah

I don't think that's necessarily going to workout. They may have a different perspective from the non physical, but doesn't necessarily.

00:45:46 Merrily

Right.

00:45:48 Sarah

Mean they have.

00:45:50 Sarah

The insight or the, you know, high level of information that you specifically want?

00:45:56

For your.

00:45:57 Sarah

So I always ask for exceptional guidance, and angels are good.

00:46:02 Merrily

Yeah, I agree. We're.

00:46:04 Merrily

Kind of shifting a little bit I.

00:46:07 Merrily

You know, I've seen your I haven't seen them in person. I hope to someday you create these luminary sculptures if you want to talk about that. They're quite beautiful. Quite. They kind of look angelic. We're going to tie it back to what?

00:46:20 Merrily

We just talked about.

00:46:21 Sarah

There's a nice.

00:46:23 Sarah

There's a nice picture.

00:46:24 Sarah

Yeah. You know, one thing that I have learned from angels is that their way of looking at humanity and our angels are about love.

00:46:32 Sarah

And they're here, guiding us how.

00:46:35 Sarah

To grow into our ability to love and bigger way.

00:46:39 Sarah

And that's one of.

00:46:39 Sarah

The things that we bring to the world.

00:46:42 Sarah

That not it's not necessarily.

00:46:44 Sarah

Brought by any other life.

00:46:45 Sarah

Form it's like something that sets us.

00:46:48 Sarah

Apart according to angels.

00:46:50 Sarah

Illuminaries are, you know, I started making luminaries.

00:46:54 Sarah

I I I was involved.

00:46:55 Sarah

With the Fremont Arts Council.

00:46:59 Sarah

I started making giant things and street art, and I learned luminaries from a a woman who was teaching that there and they are, gosh, I create them with volunteers. Sometimes the large puppets are created in in Group settings, so it's sort of like.

00:47:17 Sarah

A social outlet.

00:47:18 Sarah

For me, not the sole artist in their studio, which, you know, art can often be very isolating. But I've learned how to work with other people by through the the the luminaries and.

00:47:32 Sarah

I think that.

00:47:34 Sarah

People really love them and that.

00:47:36 Sarah

Kind of encourages me to make more, I.

00:47:38 Sarah

Have I have some dedicated I've had over.

00:47:41 Sarah

The years all these different dedicated puppeteers and people, really.

00:47:44 Sarah

Love them and.

00:47:45 Sarah

Helped me out and.

00:47:46 Sarah

Very generous ways, so I'm very grateful for.

00:47:49 Sarah

For that kind of it kind of like connects me to humanity in a way that.

00:47:54 Sarah

Other things don't seem to.

00:47:57 Sarah

And the other thing that's been really interesting is working with the puppets and doing the psychic work is I've noticed how as I've.

00:48:04 Sarah

Cleared the pictures as I've.

00:48:06 Sarah

Opened myself up as I've learned to.

00:48:08 Sarah

Grow and to create.

00:48:09 Sarah

Getting energetically all of these projects flow more easily and and I try it's all about trusting the process. Now it's kind of like oh, I can just intend what I want. I I always work from a vision. Like I get a picture.

00:48:24 Sarah

Of what I want to create and I.

00:48:27 Sarah

And it can change over time, but.

00:48:28 Sarah

It's almost always starts with.

00:48:30 Sarah

A vision of some kind.

00:48:34 Sarah

Yeah, then learning.

00:48:35 Sarah

How to trust the process and people showing?

00:48:37 Sarah

Up and everything falling into place.

00:48:41 Sarah

With a little bit.

00:48:41 Sarah

Of work, yeah.

00:48:43 Sarah

Lesson and trust.

00:48:44 Merrily

Yes, for sure.

00:48:47 Sarah

Project for arts aglow and luminata.

00:48:51 Merrily

Oh yeah, Illuminata is the thing here in Seattle on the lake.

00:48:57 Sarah

September 23rd.

00:48:59 Sarah

On the full equinox or right around.

00:49:01 Sarah

It Every year.

00:49:04 Sarah

Yeah, I think it is the equinox and yeah, it's coming up on the.

00:49:08 Sarah

23rd.

00:49:11 Sarah

It's a glow is on the 9th.

00:49:13 Merrily

September 9th might have to check those.

00:49:17 Sarah

Yeah, definitely.

00:49:18 Merrily

So we had talked about we're kind of nearing the end of our chat, but I know you also do something called the map method. So if you want to.

00:49:26 Merrily

Explain what that.

00:49:27 Merrily

Is and then how you use it?

00:49:30 Merrily

To assist your client.

00:49:31 Sarah

There's a blank.

00:49:32 Sarah

There Matt. Also it is, it's a very interesting process. I learned a lot about psychology. I'm not a therapist, but I learned a lot about how people hold trauma and beliefs.

00:49:49 Sarah

And how to map is a a way to help people release those beliefs.

00:49:56 Sarah

All of those will at least create a.

00:49:58 Sarah

Vibration that vibration attracts.

00:50:00 Sarah

Certain things to us, or not to us, it's really quite interesting.

00:50:04 Sarah

How we are?

00:50:05 Sarah

Energetically asking for what we're getting, and if it's a pattern that we don't like, if it's painful, if it came out of a trauma like we created that pattern of trauma, well, it can be very make us.

00:50:16 Sarah

Very unhappy.

00:50:17 Sarah

And really be a limit to you know what we can achieve in life. So what Matt does is it works with the higher self that what we call the Super conscious. So we connect with the Super conscious and the Super conscious is this part of our psyche, our spiritual being like our higher self that is above the trauma.

00:50:37 Sarah

And it's running the programs. It's helping us to to fulfill the vibrational beliefs that we have. If you want to put it that.

00:50:44 Sarah

Way. So if we have.

00:50:45 Sarah

A vibration that we don't like our.

00:50:47 Sarah

Super conscious, our being is helping.

00:50:49 Sarah

Us to fulfill it.

00:50:51 Sarah

We're in a way, asked. Like, if you're carrying the vibration, we're asking for it.

00:50:54 Sarah

So what Matt?

00:50:56 Sarah

Does is we we we start with talking.

00:50:59 Sarah

About what it is that we're.

00:51:00 Sarah

Trying to clear what the problems are.

00:51:02 Sarah

With the pain.

00:51:02 Sarah

Where the pain is and then the Super cut. We use commands to the Super conscious and very simple commands.

00:51:10 Sarah

And the Super crunch.

00:51:13 Sarah

You can see what is creating that problem and systematically we go through and we kind of release all the things that are creating it. And because the superconscious sees it, we don't have to mess around with what was your childhood problem.

00:51:28 Sarah

We might go to a place where you were a.

00:51:31 Sarah

Child and look at it and TuneIn to.

00:51:34 Sarah

What was happening there so we can remember it, but we don't.

00:51:37 Sarah

Have to have a long.

00:51:38 Sarah

Discussion about it, we just go in. We kind of look at what was going on like.

00:51:42 Sarah

For instance, that thing.

00:51:43 Sarah

With my mother. Well, I didn't even.

00:51:44 Sarah

Have conscious awareness of it until I was in a Mac.

00:51:48 Sarah

Section and.

00:51:51 Sarah

They're saying look at what is the, what is the.

00:51:54 Sarah

Belief that you're living on and it was kind.

00:51:57 Sarah

Of a little grueling. You know, she kept asking over and over, but it was a very powerful insight in a way, because once we see it, then we can release it. The Superconscious goes up. That's a belief you don't want.

00:52:11 Sarah

Let's get rid of it. And what it does is it it minds our awareness for the good things, for the memories that are positive and help us grow in the way that we want to.

00:52:20 Sarah

And it softens the painful trauma memory. So we have everything still, but the the balance has shifted so that we're operating off of the better memories.

00:52:32 Sarah

We kind of release the pain of it and we understand the whole picture and we reassess and reevaluate it and then we move forward and it happens very quickly in that the subconscious knows where it is. I don't have to figure it out. You don't have to figure it out.

00:52:49 Sarah

You will have insights as we go along, right?

00:52:55 Sarah

You never know where math is, where the superconscious.

00:52:57 Sarah

Is going to take you, that's true.

00:52:59 Sarah

Every time.

00:53:03 Merrily

Do you have a favorite client story that you're you would like to share?

00:53:07 Merrily

About the map method.

00:53:10 Sarah

People changing. Well, you know I.

00:53:11 Sarah

Have a kind of.

00:53:11 Sarah

A curious child story and it comes up sometimes in sessions too, so I have this client who she's a wonderful person and I.

00:53:22 Sarah

Really admire her.

00:53:24 Sarah

But when she was a, she grew up in Haiti or Jamaica some and her mother was a single parent and had to work. And so when she was two years old, her mother had a second baby and she left her behind to take care of her infant baby. So I had two years.

00:53:41 Sarah

Who could take care of a baby girl?

00:53:46 Sarah

Like it will work right? So.

00:53:48 Sarah

What happened was that she called, like in desperation, sometimes as children.

00:53:53 Sarah

We call out for.

00:53:54 Sarah

Help and what happened was this David Energy. This elemental came along and.

00:53:59 Sarah

Started helping her.

00:54:01 Sarah

And riding her as a, you know.

00:54:04 Sarah

A2 year old.

00:54:05 Sarah

And when I was and and in a trauma situation, it was helpful, like they survived, she and.

00:54:12 Sarah

Her sister? Both.

00:54:13 Sarah

Survive Jonathan and.

00:54:16 Sarah

Grew up to tell.

00:54:18 Sarah

The story, which how many of us?

00:54:20 Sarah

Would have survived taking care of infant actually.

00:54:24 Sarah

You know, I call her my miracle child, right?

00:54:27 Sarah

For that but.

00:54:29 Sarah

The days energy was still there.

00:54:32 Sarah

It was still trying.

00:54:32 Sarah

To help her. And she was all.

00:54:34 Sarah

Grown up and trying to run a business.

00:54:36 Sarah

Ness and you know, and it was just like in conflict because it just it's not.

00:54:40 Sarah

Really good to.

00:54:41 Sarah

Have elementals or any other being attached to us, but when she was young, it kind of guided her into being, you know, being able to survive. Now it was a really big problem. So what we did was we released it and then.

00:54:52 Merrily

Right.

00:54:56 Sarah

Just started to feel more empowered and able to create a business, but that's kind of like an extreme. I've seen that too. One other time in a a child who was like.

00:55:12 Sarah

I don't know. Maybe they were in.

00:55:13 Sarah

The the the death camps and the Holocaust or something, they.

00:55:16 Sarah

Asked for help.

00:55:17 Sarah

From David's.

00:55:18 Sarah

Help they I just asked for help and.

00:55:22 Sarah

I don't know. Maybe Davis.

00:55:23 Sarah

Have a special relationship with children.

00:55:26 Merrily

Sounds like it.

00:55:27 Sarah

It might be, but anyway it's.

00:55:28 Sarah

Not good to be connected in that way and.

00:55:30 Merrily

Right.

00:55:31 Sarah

Yeah. And then they might even like that belief system or that whatever that agreement is because there's some agreement that's made even in a desperate request. Sometimes we're making a somewhat unconscious agreement that you will accept help from this person as well or be.

00:55:48 Sarah

And and so we have to clear those contracts and say.

00:55:52 Sarah

Oh, thank you very much. But we don't need that.

00:55:55 Merrily

Right.

00:55:56 Sarah

What we're doing?

00:55:57 Sarah

But just seeing it is the key. So here's that, David, in your space, what do you?

00:56:05 Sarah

You know a.

00:56:06 Sarah

Really good example of that is if you've ever seen how's moving Castle the the is.

00:56:11 Merrily

Yeah, yeah.

00:56:12 Sarah

Council for the the heart thing. That's a star, but that would be like a day that that would be.

00:56:20 Sarah

The experience having.

00:56:21 Sarah

A David entity attached to you.

00:56:24 Merrily

Oh wow.

00:56:26 Sarah

Keeping the heart needs fire in.

00:56:28 Sarah

The heart, right. It's like.

00:56:29 Sarah

Yeah, the thing.

00:56:30 Sarah

I need this. I need this. I need this.

00:56:32 Sarah

And and yet it's not healthy to have a the star.

00:56:37 Sarah

Being in your.

00:56:39 Sarah

And to me.

00:56:40 Sarah

I kind of had that insight at sometimes, like, oh, that's what that that picture is a a davic attachment.

00:56:49 Sarah

They're never healthy in the in.

00:56:50 Sarah

The long run you can.

00:56:51 Merrily

Right.

00:56:53 Sarah

Have relationships with them, but yeah.

00:56:55

You know.

00:56:57 Merrily

Want them like in your space all the time? Kind of guiding you really, to an extent, yeah.

00:57:03 Sarah

Right. Not even we don't even really want.

00:57:05 Sarah

The angels in our space.

00:57:06 Merrily

All the. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:57:08 Sarah

They're like.

00:57:09 Merrily

OK, never mind.

00:57:09

Thank you.

00:57:11 Merrily

They have too much of A high level view. They don't understand like we got to pay bills and take showers and.

00:57:17 Merrily

You know, they don't get that.

00:57:19 Sarah

Part have their own attitudes and beliefs that they're trying to instill in you, and they don't always fit in every situation.

00:57:26

But yeah.

00:57:27 Sarah

I mean, that's why we teach.

00:57:28 Sarah

That you need to be.

00:57:29 Sarah

Owning your own states you are.

00:57:31 Sarah

And you're in.

00:57:32 Sarah

Control of it, and if there's some.

00:57:35 Sarah

Contractor agreement is that's, you know, betraying that trust that might be senior and and have seniority over other beings. Then you're going to be in trouble. Whether it's a ghost of your ancestor or what.

00:57:39 Merrily

Right.

00:57:50 Sarah

It's still the.

00:57:50 Merrily

Right.

00:57:51 Merrily

Well, cool. Wow, that was a lot. Sarah, thank you for sharing so many interesting stories. So as we're kind of wrapping it up, do you have either in mantra of motto or words of wisdom that you find helpful that you'd.

00:58:04 Merrily

Like to share?

00:58:06 Sarah

My gosh, well you.

00:58:07 Sarah

Know the one thing that I came to mind.

00:58:12 Sarah

Always keep, you know, keep looking like if you don't have feeling. If you don't know, what if you can't?

00:58:17 Sarah

Find what you need. Don't give up. Just.

00:58:19 Sarah

Keep keep your open mind to that, or keep your focus on.

00:58:23 Sarah

What you really need?

00:58:25 Sarah

It's really like setting the vision as clearly as you can of what you want.

00:58:31 Merrily

Right.

00:58:32 Sarah

Not giving up.

00:58:33 Sarah

Right, it's.

00:58:34 Sarah

Like oh.

00:58:35 Sarah

We, I.

00:58:35 Sarah

Mean really setting clear visions, I.

00:58:37 Sarah

Don't know if that's.

00:58:38 Sarah

A motto it's like always be aware that some things change and something.

00:58:42 Sarah

Will come your way if you keep your.

00:58:44 Sarah

Mind open to it.

00:58:46 Sarah

Yeah, I mean, that's not really a motto.

00:58:48 Sarah

But plus I can get.

00:58:49 Merrily

Well, I mean it's like a good thing to keep in mind like clear, like, keep clear vision and then keep your mind open for the.

00:58:58 Merrily

The solve or whatever the solution.

00:59:00 Sarah

Yeah, I like, don't give.

00:59:00 Merrily

Or whatever you know.

00:59:02 Sarah

Up, but it's.

00:59:04 Sarah

A very good model.

00:59:05 Merrily

Well, I mean, yeah, there's a lot of times you're anyway. Yeah.

00:59:09 Merrily

I I just want to like not to.

00:59:13 Sarah

Here you know the.

00:59:14 Sarah

As will grow.

00:59:14 Sarah

And change as.

00:59:15 Sarah

The world grows and changes show up for US solutions.

00:59:17 Merrily

Yeah. So.

00:59:20 Merrily

And if we are?

00:59:21 Sarah

Open to come and we'll actually find them.

00:59:23 Merrily

Thank you, Sarah. OK, So what contact information that you would like to share if people want to find you and see?

00:59:30 Merrily

Yeah, the website and it's kind of this messy combination of map, psychic and art because I don't have that kind of boundaries boundaries for external things. But my internal life is very much all connected.

00:59:50 Sarah

So, or maybe it was too much trouble to have three separate websites, so I have one website, love it. Art that's.
